Very good sounding, but there's a constant 164Hz tone printed in the record itself which can be very annoying when playing this record loud.
This is a phenomenal pressing. So quiet you can hear every detail with depth and warmth. One of the best sounding records in my collection.
Anyone knows which orchestra & choir plays/sings on this? Why aren't they credited?
Edited 4 years agoFinally there is good quality pressing of a Sigur Ros album. I have them all, have had them all in original pressings also. This is the very first that I can say - it has no any problems. Buy black , that white one looks awful and its crackling and other problems on it.
Phenomenal is the most fitting description for the sound quality of this pressing. Absolutely stunning. Possibly the best sounding record in my collection.
Edited 4 years agoGot my copy through today, typical Sigur Ros pressing, very high quality, lovely dynamics and balance. And what a wonderful orchestral manouver, these guys really are musical geniuses covering so many contrasting styles. An absolute must for any fan.- Edited 4 years agoContrary to the review below, my copy was warped (first disc) and had non-fill and surface pitting in both discs. A typical, awful Optimal pressing. Hoping for a better one when it arrives. So many of Optimal's records have these defects.
Edited 4 years agoSounds absolutely phenomenal! Quiet, great dynamics and bass. Records are flat and free of defects. Beautiful music from Sigur Ros, other-worldly and beautiful. My only gripe is that I wish the outer sleeve would have been a gatefold. A must own if you enjoy the band or classical style orchestrations!
