- Edited 11 months ago2nd Album Revolution #3:
I am kind of confused here...After a forever, "Smokey Robinson" left "Motown" for a very small label in "SBK Records"....For what reason, I have no idea...
I will say though that, "Double Good Everything" was still a very well quality, well put together album....That also meant that "Smokey" also took the reins back in the Producers chair...
The "Title Track" (the Crown Jewel), is just proving ground, that "Smokey" still had plenty left in the tank...
Other songs worth mentioning: "Rewind", "Be Who You Are", "I Love Your Face", and the very nice "When A Woman Cries"....
With this album "Smokey" brought back some very familiar faces like, "Sonny Burke", "Ivory Stone", "Patricia Henley" and the one and only, "Marvin Tarplin"....
This album fell through the cracks, but not because of "Smokey" or the songs...It was the VERY, VERY, VERY POOR Promotion of the album!!!! "SBK" was a TERRIBLE Record Company (Ask "Vanilla Ice")!!!! That's ok though, because it didn't reflect badly on "Smokey" at all, in fact it kept him in excellent standing...
This one is very hard to find, but if you are fortunate to find it, GRAB IT!!!! You will not be disappointed!!!!!
