I find it a bit disheartening that this album seems to have few fans in 2019. BRA was easily the oddest group in the "big beat" pantheon's heyday, all mischevous smirks and bouncing sproings. But it wasn't without grace, and a certain, uncanny sense of timing. Not unlike the audio version of watching a truly well-constructed marble run, or, say, a brightly-colored Rube Goldberg machine made from hilariously mismatched kitchen items. I don't need BRA's music all of the time—but when I do, nothing else fits the bill.
