Twisted Individual - Bandwagon Blues / Does Exactly What It Says On The Tin Or Your Money Back as reviewed by dkenj

Many people think that the whole Distorted Minds' T-10, Twisted's Bandwagon Blues and John B's Blandwagon Poos were part of some big marketing conspiracy to get more sales. If only things were so organised; the tracks and responses were genuine, and some of these artists even fell out over it! Interestingly, the cover artwork contains cartoon images of at-the-time Formation Records artists; Zen, Influx UK/Influx Datum on the broomsticks, the G-Dub boys in their Newcastle United football shirts, and two more victims in the back of the truck (guess who they are), being driven by Mr Twisted himself. Inspired, just like the tune itself!

This tune was Twisted's reaction to Distorted Minds' T minus 10, which seemed to bite his style a little, it also sparked an amusing, yet quite enjoyable reaction from John B in the shape of Blandwagon Poos. Bandwagon Blues was a great track upon it's release with real dancefloor appeal, who cares if the childish politics surronding all three releases was just a clever marketing ploy.

Yeah, essential for all dnb heads, with the possible exception of people who like good tunes. this is boring as hell, i actually prefer John B's parody 'Blandwagon Poos' and that's saying something. Twisted Individual has always succeeded in my eyes in making tunes that are trying to be heavy and just sound tragic. avoid

nonesense. Twisted individual has made countless floor smashers that still very much stand the test of time today. Enta the dragon remix, rusty sheriff's badge, the awesome Gimp-mask remix, the tooled up album... many more. Whilst i'd agree this tune is pretty basic and loses its appeal after a few plays, to label his production as 'tragic' is an insult. That said of course the last 5 or so years have not been good for Twisted in terms of tunes... But then can't the same be said for so many producers from the past!

I agree with the last comment, grerat banging' track. Been rinsed out a bit though. I would have given this a 5/5 but side B isn't up to par with Bandwagon. Otherwise, awesome tune! Essential for all dn'b heads.
