'STR4TA' are more than inspired by 1980's Brit- Funk; your listening to the crème de la crème: core musicians from Galliano & Incognito among others, dropping some NOW sh*t with a foot in jazz- funk, served up for todays dance floors.
Giles & Bluey absolutely killed it here with this concept, this has to be one of the greatest from the UK Jazz & Funk scene, and to think it's 2023... A testament of time. Never give up, never stop, it ain't over!!
If I even hear a mutter of negativity about this set.... you've been warned! ;) Among the short few very best of 2020 by an uncompromising, unchallenged distance.
(Late to the table here, but watch this space: the crumbs will be falling for many years to come, this being limited to x500 copies & pre-released before the retail version)
- Tinkling rhodes/ synths and deep basslines straight from the masters. Really this could be a lost Incognito/ Brit-Funk album from the early 80's, so if that's the sound you yearn for, pick this up. My copy is signed. Nice one!
Matrix / Runout etching STU appears on A side only (on my copy at least) this is the same as the Test Pressing version WWFM001- Those snappy drum rifts sound like signature Francesco Mendolia (Incognito drummer) to me.
