One of the early DJ Funk records, and a fine one with some absolute acid classics. The non-acid ones: A1 runs into A2 (a related weed-smoking track), and B1 is a remix of "I'm So Hi" featuring some fantastic backwards work. A4 is a very short remix of Ralphie Rosario's "You Used To Hold Me" with female vocals "You used to fuck me right". Not subtle, and an indicator of things to come from DJ Funk. And of course there's one of Funk's famed mega-mixes -- this one much more on the '93-'94 Chicago house tip, with some ghetto snippets.

Then you've got the all-time techno/acid classic "Work That Body", made famous by Jeff Mills on the Liquid Room set. And "Acid Houz" is a wonderfully tweaky tune, too. But flip it to B3 for "Follow (Getto House Mix)", a dark and atmospheric acid tune that's always been my pick from this 12" -- it could have come from Detroit and no one would have blinked. As a side note, "Follow Me" was also released on Parris Mitchell's "Life In The Underground" with some vocals and more hi-hats -- this is the pure instrumental version here. The track is an acid remix of Aly-Us "Follow Me" on Strictly Rhythm.

One issue I always had with this release is that the tracks (especially on the A-side) are generally quite short. But overall a great record.
