- Edited 3 years agoI wonder whether the female singer Charlotte, credited on vocals on this LP, is the same Charlotte credited on vocals on Catharsis 1st and 6th LPs.
Extract from my French Independent & Underground Obscurities article in Audion 56 (2010): Jean Cohen-Solal was a French jazz flautist, who also worked in the avant-jazz outfit Cohelmec Ensemble. Another NWW listed musician, his classic is the 1973 album CAPTAIN TARTHOPOM, a gem that fuses the best of Canterbury styled fusions with copious amounts of the trippiest out-there Pink Floyd. Think Atom Heart Mother and A Saucerful Of Secrets in a melting-pot of esoteric hallucinogenic Frenchness, lovely horns, sitar, etc., it's emotional shivers down the spine time every time I listen to it!
