I'm relatively new to Akiyama's work but what I have heard so far is nothing short of incredible. This particular cd in my opinion is about as perfect as it gets. It is a concept album which deals with the grandeur of sea life. You feel as if you are floating in a ship with all the creaks and groans inside while elements are raging outside. Along with the haunting, achingly beautiful acoustic guitar of Akiyama this cd is an experience and journey well worth the taking. As with most of Akiyama's work, you have to be patient and absorb yourself in the panorama of sound and silence. So don your lifejackets and and make reservations for a trip on the HMS Akiyama!
