Wild and crazy songs from the German lunatic fringe (I mean that as a compliment as I come from another lunatic fringe myself), lots of obscure stuff here from the 1980's avant garde. A further expansion of the DIY non pop sounds pioneered by Kraftwerk. From the wonderfully loopy cuts like those by Pyrolator to more sinister cuts like 'Suicide Commando". Well curated compilation with great production standards from the gigolo camp circa 2003. Ranges from straight up industrial, to more dance oriented synthpop. A very good education on what the New Deutsch movement represented.

"New Deutsch" is compiled by Thomas Bar and DJ Hell, and documents the variety of the first explosion of synthetic music from Germany in the early eighties, from the small production editions of indie singles beside big chart hits. The influence of these early classics is apparent in all aspects of dance music 2003... a treasure trove of long out-of-print gems from Der Plan, Stratis, Weltklang, No More, Pyrolator, Za Za, Echowest and more."
