I am quite surprised that no one noticed the BIG difference between the version of "A step ahead" on this 45 and the version available on https://www.discogs.com/fr/release/13494078-The-9th-Creation-A-Step-Ahead... It is not only an alternative mix but a totally resung, reorchestrated and rearranged version. The 45 track has a rawer feel, with prominent slapping bass ; LP track is more polished and features undeniably more melodious vocals, but remains very very funky thanks to its fabulous synth work. Both versions are great to my taste !- The guy trying to sell this for £3k must be trying to fund his divorce settlement or pay off a loan shark looking at his inflated prices! I'll settle for the £10 repress thanks.
- Reissue of the entire 9th Creation catalogue inc all the albums, the ‘mellow music’ 7” and the ‘Love Crime’ 12” coming around the end of November 2018 thru Still Music / Past Due Records
