This has never been one of my favorite SP albums, as such I knew something was wrong with my old 80s pressing (mistakenly mastered with Dolby B by the label - many such copies are out there) that I never bothered replacing it with a "corrected" copy. Recently I finally got around to it and the difference is seriously night and day. If you're looking for the "right" one you'll have to check pressing matrix info here to find a '93 or later version or look for a copy with the clear CD tray, which I believe is on the '98 or later editions.

Just FYI, I believe all CD and digital versions of the record, other than perhaps the first (and poorly mastered) CD version, have the same error. The thunderclaps at the beginning of "Amputate" should be at the end of "Choralone." Standard Nettwerk stupidity, sadly.

I have to agree with Scrap_Iron in saying that this album is not at all a worthy follow-up to VIVIsectVI. Sure, Rodent, Hexonxonx, and Warlock are good songs. I actually even like Two Time Grime a lot for whatever reason. Tin Omen and Fascist Jock Itch just sound like really bad Ministry songs, sorry. I really hate sampled guitars, especially in Skinny Puppy songs. The rest of the album is pretty much just filler. I will never understand why this seems to be one of their most popular albums.
