This is awesome on 16rpm!! Most turntables don't go that slow, but gladly, Sludgefest have gone to the trouble....:

It’s kind of crazy that this record has THREE songs written by The Knack on it, especially since “Good Girls Don’t” is one of them and this record is for kids!

So this is the source material for Chipmunks at 16 speed. Holy shit.

As a middle-aged man I wasn't expecting much from a Chipmunks album. Having been exposed to the Chipmunks throughout most of my youth I am quite aware of how they are supposed to sound. I am rather disappointed with this album because the quality of the singing is very much lacking and it's very hard to make sense out of anything they sing. Unless you already have the lyrics to all of these songs memorized, you likely won't understand anything they say. The band is forgettable but at least they play the songs well enough. On the positive note, the song selection for this album is rather creative for the era. Tom Petty's Refugee is a great song that they squeak through rather well. Blondie's Call Me is also a great 1980's period selection for these wretched rodents to sing and they're not too far from Debby Harry's voice.
