Reviews
"Going To Get A Thrill" by Hank Ballard was supposed to have been issued as singles I Dentify 8002 (circa late 1972) or Polydor PD14166 (circa spring 1973). I never understood why a Hank Ballard vocal song was included on a mainly instrumental album. Overall, though, this is one of the best LPs by Fred Wesley and the J.B.'s. Highly recommended.
This is pure funk at its finest! Everyone should just do themselves a favor and purchase this. Amazing pressing, Spectacular grooves!
The JB's pumping, some say at their peak - produced by the Godfather himself showing how FUNK should be played - solos rooted in avant-jazz - precise and intense grooves and rhythms - the sounds of funky '70s soul!
