Well, it looks like 2020 saved the very best for last! Just when this more than challenging year was about to conclude, the super-talented, Ghanaian-American musician Amaarae (aka Ama Serwah Genfi) stepped out and gave us what is IMHO nothing less than the most stunning debut LP release by any artist in a long time.
Amaarae's beautifully complex beat programming that rolls constantly around silky layers of chords and undulating waves of sub-bass, while her dubbed-out Hiplife-vocals float in and out of the mix, is just so captivating as well as, simply put, F-A-N-T-A-S-T-I-C 🌟.
“The Angel You Don’t Know” is a masterpiece and a striking introduction to Amaarae's effortless take on genre-bending Afro-pop. HIGHEST RECOMMENDATION 😊👍.
