- Edited 2 years agoMy first record I ever bought. in the sale for 3 bucks. After that I bought a lot more:) sounds really authentic en mysterious. Really surprised they never repressed it. In a lot of peoples wanting list.
- When a thought becomes you is - together with K Alexi Shelby: All for Lee-Sah - the most emotional & sexy techno track ever!
- One of Blake's best, maybe even his only 12" that is a total success. Which is normal, because Mad Mike does not allow any mediocrity on UR. But mine is indeed pressed obscenely off centre, too. And this unfortunately detracts from the sound quality. So: glad to have it on the shelves, but a decent repress would be welcome, preferably before I leave this planet.
- One of my favorite records of all time- So much blistering heat here, Dear lord!! Crazy guitar riff +++
- This record is all about the A side, and particularly, "A thought becomes U." Moody, dark, and longing with very crisp kick that hits like concrete, and is completely in a world of its own compared to the rest of the EP. One of those records you need a good long set to pull out correctly, and If you can place it well in that. It's going to be slow burner. If not, or if you don't have time to set it up right. It's going to be a big letdown. "It's a funky world is a bit more popcorn oriented with its bump and grind grab a body and pump it type pleadings.
The b side is kind of play at your own risk type stuff. Sort of fun upper 130 bpm territory. Vision of Truth is more worthy of getting time on the decks with its 303 punching away underneath the rising kind of space noises lifting off continually. Combustible is slightly more uptempo, but it's just goofing off with a guitar and a 303. - Edited 18 years agoAmazing record. Blake's vocals on "When A Thought Becomes U" are haunting and melancholic, yet have an uplifting effect. Sublime music from the Motor City.
