Reviews
- On this EP, by the - for me - totally unknown Astoria, four jazzy tracks are offered. Side B is more uptempo compared to the A side and has a more dense production. Therefore, "Clear" may be somewhat chaotic, but never too much to prevent you from dancing to it. "Bota Fogo" has a nice horn theme, an peppy broken house beat and a good structure. On the other side the tracks are more sensitive. "Zoo Floor" has beautiful chords and groovy and rolling jazz rhythm. The many layers makes multiple listenings rewarding. The best track is "Discomotion" with its simple beat and an awesome disco bassline. Everything is right in this track, and the piano and the rhodes are superb, especially in the second half of the track. A mighty nice EP.
