One of the best Dub Techno albums I've heard, hoping for a vinyl press one day. Fantastic one, stand out is easily StickDub.

The comments by browna & councilof9 are justice enough that this a special release. I'm not going to get in great detail around this album but the track D.I.V.E is an absolute monster of a tune.

Simply put...this is one of the finest Dub techno/Electronic music albums that I own!!
Absolutely amazing. Complex rythms and deep chilled ambient atmospheres.
Took me a long time to track the physical version of this album down and paid quite a hefty price tag for this CD, but I promise you it was worth every penny. Brilliant!! 5/5

        From Andre himself:
Many people asked me if they can get a physical copy and if it´s still available. But the situation at somnia rec. wasn´t easy and they separated eventually. That´s the reason why no physical copies longer exists.
        Anyway...
I´m proud to rerelease this beautiful Album as a digital download and i hope you still enjoy it.

        Somnia release notes:
Somnia is proud to present an atmospheric and delicate journey through textural dub landscapes and machinistic techno ambience. Exquisite sculptures of reverb drenched chords and clicky percussion wind and float their way through hazy electronic vistas. Representing a palette of restrained minimalism and more beat oriented fragment of the somnia aesthetic, this 9 track album establishes P. Laoss, a.k.a Vakuum Sounds (native state records) as a mature and thoughtful designer of intricate dub and digitalia. Limited to 777 copies worldwide, soy inks on recycled paper, sewn and sealed in wax with incredible cover art by Ray Massini.

Of all Somnia's unique limited edition CD's "Landscapes & Machines" is my absolute favourite. Already three years passed since release and it sounds as fresh and deep as first time i played it. Somnia had a truly impressive selection of artists in it's back catalogue, such as Evan Bartholomew (which is the ambient guise and real name of Bluetech - the man behind Somnia and Native State), Motionfield, Killowatts and absolutely mesmerizing and otherwordly Evan Marc/Steve Hillage collaboration. All in all, there isn't a single release which lacks in quality and innovation. But this masterpiece by P.Laoss (André Müller) is maybe a few steps ahead when it comes to production technique and level of attention to details. Symbolically, the name Landscapes & Machines perfectly describes symbiosis between organic and artificial, analog and digital. André definately knows how to play deep, soft but complex chords and pads, every track has a unique set of sounds which is an enormous plus, due to most dub techno (and ambient) albums have a lack in diversity of sounds and arrangements. He succeeded to keep pure dub ambience without being too repetitive and dare i say boring. Far from that, tracks vary from beatless ambient with swooshing reversed chords to chilling straight up dub as in Situated on a hill / StickDub and all the way to more upbeat hypnotic techno of D.I.V.E. and Metabolism. It is an complete journey through a world of Landscapes and Machines. If you like Intrusion, DeepChord, Yagya and others, and wonder how would they sound all together - this is a perfect release for you despite having a clearer sound and less background noises that ones i mentioned, I am absolutely certain you will love P.Laoss. I would also like to recommend his Back Diffusion vinyl on Pong musiq for faster deep dub techno sound.
