Reviews
- After 'Stuck in the Middle with You' but before 'Baker Street' Gerry Rafferty released his self-titled debut solo album. The songwriting is mostly charming and wistful and sometimes self-deprecating. Rafferty is clearly channeling the Beatles with playful melodic basslines like Paul's and a vocal delivery that is a dead ringer for John.
This is a great pressing and I did not hear any excessive noise. - Edited 4 months agoUnbelievably fantastic mastering but the pressing is noisy at times. I just opened a sealed copy and cleaned it—still noisy.
- An album he had to do, to fullfill his contract, I believe . Made in the US of course, flopped big time over there and came to Europe with a cut in. A really Good lp, esp. Side 2. A must have ! If you like his stuff ,this album together with his 78-80 lp’s, will match perfectly. you will love it!
- I have this eponymous Gerry Rafferty album on vinyl - had it for years before a friend brought over his record player (I haven't had one in years) and we listened to it. Some fine work here! I am looking for this collection on CD. I believe it's right up there with City to City!
