Bought this recently and it's a noisy mess, Side A especially, tho Side B is far from pristine. Highly disappointing considering how good my copies of Bring and Stories from this reissue series sound. This one disappeared from U.S. stores for a while, and I'm wondering if this entire latest batch is compromised or just mine. Grrrrrr

My favorite PJ Harvey album, though in a minority about this most likely. My life is much better with this vinyl finally reissued. Worth the wait.

Was dismayed to hear some general sonic mushiness (don't know how else to describe it) on Side B starting with "The Garden". Something doesn't sound right, it sounds veiled on my copy. Pretty much goes through the rest the of the tracks on side B. I've spin-cleaned the record once when I got it earlier this year.

A good but not great pressing--unfortunately, as its probably my favorite PJH record. Anyone know what the source for this reissue was?

Sounds great in general on side A but I've found side B to be a bit on the noisy side for a new pressing, lots of pops particularly on the first track on B.

Ah, yes! :) Although not my favourite PJ Harvey album, sonically one of the best! I don't consider my ears to be "hi-fi" sensitive, but when compared this vinyl release to the CD I own for years, the superior sound coming from the vinyl is obvious even for a hi-fi n00b like me. Very good example where vinyl outperforms the compact disc. Well done!

Just picked mine up, and first thought was there is a little surface noise (after brushing), so maybe needs a proper cleaning.
Like others have said, volumes are a little weird, and I found myself having to adjust (upwards) on certain songs to be able to really hear her.
I was excited for this, and it was on my CD player for a long time when it first came out, but I found myself less interested in some of the songs then I was back then.
I'll have to wait for the family to go to bed and listen again with headphones on to get a better impression.

Will need to turn it up on some tracks but it really gets you in the mix. Great pressing

One of my favourite PJ albums... here, she dives even deeper into the soundscape world... and I love the quietness of some of the songs. She sounds more fragile and broken on this record than before - and there is a sense of isolation that digs deep. Not her best - but still an amazing album. This pressing is superb - mastering top notch - and all as it should be. Highly recommended.

I have to crank this a little louder than usual, but it’s a small price to pay to own an amazing sounding pressing of this classic. Highly recommended.
