One of my favorite records in my collection. This purchase made me a fan of VMP when I ordered it back then they blew me away with the sound and packaging. I got number 8/2000
have to say that this pressing is very impressive.... I have the original release and found it a little dull and compressed... this is definitely brighter and well balanced.... highly recommended
Really beautiful edition, great toothy texture on the jacket and the records themselves are just lovely. A tiny bit of crackling here and there, probably just needs a wash. Definitely limited somewhat by the digital recording style of the time when it was made, but I doubt it could ever sound better than this.
Sounds great, with lots of space, depth and clarity and a nice wide soundstage. I'm hearing a small amount of distortion on some of the lead vocals when she really goes for it, but can't tell if this is just an artefact from the way the album was recorded/mixed cause I've not heard the original pressing or the CD.
But what does "digital stereo" mean on the back? I'm assuming it just means it's a digital recording that's in stereo, but it seems odd to spell it out on such a recent release, given digital recordings have been the norm for more than 30 years and stereo for, like, 50? Am I missing something?
