Reviews
- On the first realease of his first label 20000st, Demon makes his musical debut with the mini EP "A-Typique".
Petite Ceinture- WE GOT THE WHOLE WIDE WORLD IN-IN OUR REACH! This is such a chill track, perfect to listen when you're walking downtown. With a powerful beginning vocal like that, you'd expect to be a heavy song, but it's not. Oh well, still a really good and very relaxing listen.
Lil'fuck- Very simple, very neat. The drums are very strong and powerful in this one. Sounds like something you'd hear at a cafe, but you probably wouldn't hear it a cafe because the vocal samples talking about sucking cocks and calling someone lil' fuck😂. I do perfer Eitenne de Crecy's version over this (and we will review that EP very soon) because of the boogie value, but this song is still alright.
A.T.L.A.S- Ehh. Not a huge fan of the random sound effects bounced around here and there. Do love the soothing piano in the background. The faint train sounds (I think?) are a nice touch. Nothing really happens however, so this isn't my favorite.
NeoParis- The song that introduced me to this release, and the one I rock out to the most. When the main stages of this song starts, there's nothing you can do but dance. This song screams of good vibes and days at the mall, and it really is a killer on the dance floor. Perfect song to study. Truly amazing. There are way more good things to say about this song but I want to keep this somewhat short, so let's move to the final song.
EnglishLesson- I didn't like this song very much at first, but after listening to it again recently, I like it a little more than last time. The sounds are repetitive but dreamy. You could get a good dance session out of this. I don't really get what the vocal samples are saying, I used to think they were saying, "It is sound. Is the sound tough? It is all our hearts!" but it actually sounds like a foriegn language more than English. Overall, it's ok.
Overall, this is an alright start to Demon's long and glorious music career. Most of the songs are really good, but some are kinda ehh. My favorite song is NeoParis, really chill and happy. My least favorite is A.T.L.A.S, just not a huge fan.
7.5/10 - The durations listed on the label for side A (Ici) are incorrect, all off by a couple seconds. Pressing-wise, this vinyl sounds AMAZING: full bass and sharp highs with zero sibilance distortion.
