DJ Massive – Massive Overload

This is an excellent slice of early rave. I think it came out around summer '91, I have a set recorded off Hardcore FM from then and it's on there.

It's dated really, really well. Starts off with a sample from Pumpkin and the all stars "When we're at the party cause a heart attack" which is actually quite difficult to ascertain due to the pitch (sounds a bit like Sugar Bear's pitch-up of Eric B's ain't no joke) and mixes up some T99-esque stabs and a thick break then it goes a bit e-tune and threatens to go full piano and then slaps back in with the break and stabs and throws in some exterminate type stabs. Great tune.

55 Overload is the mix on this great old school hardcore tune, from its looped rap vocal intro dropping in and out through the track, and deep bass, break beat loops and full on rave synth this was in many a DJ’s set at the time and a real crowd pleaser. I use to have this 12 (which magically disappeared) and luckily on an old mix tape but could never remember the name glad I tracked it down eventually. If you are into this style well worth a listen or even getting copy for yourself !!!
