I would recommend anyone buying this "mint"/sealed be wary: I'm a VMP member and I'm my third copy, all of which have had significant skipping issues on "Between Love & Hate," rendering the song unlistenable. At this point, I'm just going to ask VMP for a credit, as I don't want to waste the resources to get a fourth copy shipped to me that will likely have the same issue. I love their stuff and have dozens of their records but this one is a massive disappointment from VMP.

(And note that I listen to dozens of records each week without issue and yes, I have cleaned each copy multiple times.)

The visual impact of the album is stunning. The cover and the artwork are beautiful. Vinyl looks great, looks even better when it is spinning. As far as the sound, this is not an audiophile recording but it sounds good for what it is. My copy has some brief intrusive noise going into the run-out on Side A, but is otherwise quiet. As VMP records go, this is a very good one and I'm glad to have it in my collection.

This is a disappointing one for me. Yes this release sounds marginally better than all the pressings before but it’s still a very compressed sounding record. I really can’t say it sounded good as it is apparently still very flat sounding as it was intended, especially comparing to all the other wonderful VMP pressings this is quite blanketed. 3 stars at best!

Sounds great - compared to an original from '03 this sounds more full, with a fatter low end and far more separation of instruments. The only pro I'd give to an original is that the vocals are a bit hotter and cut through a bit more, but the vocals on this release are still really solid. Not the quietest vinyl in the world but with the beautiful multi-color wax I wasn't expecting it to be dead silent by any means. Must buy for any Strokes fans out there.

I was unlucky; a sizeable bubble on the vinyl at the beginning of side two made the needle jump wildly and noisily around 20 times. Real bummer, as this is a beautiful and well recorded record.
