Vibe Tribe used to represent the best melodies, the craziest ideas and the 'full-on-est' drive, but when they decided to split up, they destroyed our dreams of seeing another duo that could challenge Infected Mushroom. Once they split up, neither Stas nor Elmar have had much to show us over the years, but at least Elmar still had a nice sound on the little he did produce. After hearing this album, it's needless to say; there is no Vibe Tribe without Elmar Ivatarov.
This album is so far from their golden days that I just wanna shove this Compact stick somewhere where it won't remind us of how great they used to be. It's not the worst album ever, but the bar is set very low. There are a few gems though.
Track 2, the remix of The Purist is a track I have liked long before it was released on this album, when it was just an unreleased track. Track 4 is a bit different, not the typical psy-trance, but it has a special thing going, experimenting with rythms and tempos. Track 9, just like track 2, is a remix I enjoyed before it was put on this album. Aside from these tracks, the rest just sounds the same. Production is fine, so is mastering, those have always been the strong suits of Stas, but the sounds are all to similar, the bass is that annoying, high pitch one where you don't really feel it, it doesn't invite to dance.
It's way too progressive trance about it all. In one word; boring.
To summarise, this is not something I would recommend, but it still belongs in the collection of any respectable collector.
I do hope he hasn't given up on the music, and will give it another try, it's been 7 years, and only a few single tracks have been given us so far.
