Among the most timeless and significant works in techno. Still unparalleled, its level of innovation and influence absolutely remarkable.

High impact music, stirs things deep in the mind and spirit. One of Jeff Mills' masterpieces. Minimalism at its finest. This pressing sounds incredible, but a reissue would be ideal, , since it is not easy to get a copy in good condition and at a good price

This record is one of the classic Top10 of Techno History. I have it in the shelf from the day of its release and it's like a bible to me. But I unfortunately missed the higher meaning of Phase 4. Currently while listening to the track a couple of years later, I instantly had Klang der Familie in my mind and of course, it seems to be a Remix of it. Great to see another example of the inspiring Berlin - Detroit connection of the early 90s.

Awesome tune as always. I do love the cheeky Der Klang der Familie sample there. I understand it's a remix. I'd say it;'s a rewrite with a sample. but it doesn't matter how we define it, the experience is everything, and this one is outstanding.

In 1992 the cheesey rave scene was taking over the UK, or if you were lucky you found a club that was playing chicago style house music which at least had some soul. Meanwhile in a darkened room somewhere Jeff Mills was tweaking the hell out of the knobs on his drum machine. Bringing this home one day from Eastern Bloc records was revolutionary, suddenly the dance scene had a new direction. This record must have influenced countless disillusioned DJs and producers. It's a deep and industrial workout with very occasional (perhaps unintentional) melodic snippets. Like his DJ sets, its raw and honest, you know what you are getting: and if it's not a headache it's a trip through a world where the machines took over a long time ago ...
