Donny Hathaway's live album is among the best live recordings ever recorded. If you love music, it is definitely an album to seek. But I would warn you to not Purchase the record day edition, which I happen to buy at a high price. This version sounds muffled like if it were a bootleg. Shame on Rhino! It is advertised as a limited edition of 8,500 to fool you.

To my surprise, I happen to see a first edition copy at my local store last week for $11.00! The cover art is not perfect, and the media has some noise due to being played over an over....I do not blame the previous owner, but after cleaning the album with my machine. It sound great. It is lively, sharp highs, great bass and nice soundstage. It has nothing to do with the piece of garbage I purchased. So take you time and wait on a good not make my mistake.

What energy. Especially this version of The Ghetto. The vibe, the rhythm, the interaction with the audience. Love this album.

I bought the RSD 2021 release and noticed that the labels are on the wrong side of the record. Anyone else noticing this?

Live albums normally have their share of baggage. I don't know any other album that captures raw energy like they did here. Hathaway and crew gives it their all. You are transported to another time and place and it's hard to imagine what the audience looked like while this was happening... they had to be losing their minds. This is the quintessential live recording.

In my opinion this is certainly the best Soul live album ever released.
Not even Curtis Mayfield's or Marvin Gaye's brilliant live albums or any other got this emotional density and such an outstanding atmosphere.
Besides the mountainousness performance of the band and Donnie, the sound & atmoshere is surely THE perfect reason for what it needs to release a Live album besides the regular studio release.
This record has surely caused so many goosebumps that It should receive a special price donated by the medical association of the dermatologist as best analeptic agent.
