Reviews
- Celebration- Bheki Mseleku's CD album on World Circuit records (later of Buena Vista Social Club fame)- released in 1992- is a Jazz masterpiece. Thankfully Matsuli Music released this on a wonderful vinyl version in 2018. 'Beyond The Stars'- is only the 2nd vinyl release of this masterful piano players (and saxophonist) from South Africa, who had to spend a great part of his like in exile and sadly died 2008 at 53 yrs. Our thanks to Mseleku's friend Eugene Skeef for putting this out via Tapestry Works. Solo piano, flat pressing, silent between tracks, and beautifully recorded. Cover is high quality, gatefold, heavy stock glossy. Between this and the Celebration album - are 3 Verve albums on CD. Will they ever seen vinyl reissues? Not from Verve i reckon, but perhaps someone like Chad Kassem from Analogue Productions could get interested?
