- Edited 3 years agoWell, I do like this (studio?) mix a lot...
Cliched samples???
Yeah at the beginning there is a few repeated but I wouldn't say its a cliche as its an opening to this set by JD Twitch.
There are notable samples that do not overpower this mix.
They are Joeys Riot (Classic bleeps) and Human Resource ("I wanna kiss myself").
And the female vocal towards the latter end of the mix fits nicely.
The beginning of this mix opens with a nicely edited and frenetic Freestyle type of affair.
Then it builds nicely with some pretty heavy techno jams.
It reaches a peak where you can tell that JD Twitch obviously loves Autonation Sit On The Bass so it lets it do its own justice (and whatta track too!!!)
Then Mantrax kicks in and it gets even heavier Speedjack The Mover and Mescalin United (Oh yes!!!!).
The mix then settles down into a smooth comedown.
What is there not to like!
P.s. JD Twitch even makes Energy Flash sound less repetitive than it first was.
11 out 10 for this well-crafted mix with an amazing line up of artists and tunes.
P.p.s My only very minor gripe is that it didn't have any crossfader action like the good old days of the early 1990s ;)
O.p.o.t. (Oh piss off taz)
I see no derailment in this mix as its a normal on time service for this train;)
- Do you like your favourite tracks randomly chopped about, and overlaid with clichéd samples? Then this is the album for you.
If you prefer the originals - then avoid at all costs.
Yes, the mix from Ion > Energy Flash is good, but cannot save this train wreck.
Difficult to believe that this is an authorised R&S release. - Yes, we can't get enough of this wonderful stuff! This is a mixed compilation where the tracks are presented in the right way supporting their strength. The Mix is edited & mixed very well by Keith McIvor aka JT Twitch without bad parts and shows the listeners the unbeatable music world of R & S in the early 90s.
The slow fading of Beltrams "Energy Flash" into Spock Jr.’s „Ion“ is perfect made – starting a brutal cool bass drive of two tracks showing what life is like 1992. Beltram appears more than three times on here but with right! He’s NY’s Frankie Bones with less vocals: Known for making the best dark techno tracks of the world in that era beside a few others like PCP. PCP? JT Twitch chose Mover’s „Nightflight (Nonstop To Kaos)“ all cd-lovers know from the Frankfurt Trax Volume 2 CD and from the R & S PCP EP. Another great & big release from this era: Mescalinum United anihilates into Jam & Spoon: Very originaly track mixing and it goes with power.
In Order To Edit is the long time missed R & S mixcompilation. The DJ is not so known like the artists appearing on this release but he gives them a fiting frame. The tracks are played fresh and this release shows again that this old school sound can stand all new techno releases of our time, are even the blueprints. A big extra is the 8 page fan fold booklet with the story of this cd. There is a part where the tracks are explained, some backround knowledge is told and sometimes it gets a personaly touch right from the life of a fan of this R & S sound. The recordings are taken from the original dat tapes after Christmas 2008 and Keith McIvor edited and cutted the track-parts together to this mix. The cover and the inlaycard show the dats – must be a great feeling of honor to use the original R & S tapes.
A must-have for R & S lovers and we are a big family…
