Hastings Of Malawi - Vibrant Stapler Obscures Characteristic Growth as reviewed by brume

Stapleton was not involved with this LP. The only UNdirect relation might be that Heman Patack was one of the three members of the early NWW, "Chance meeting..." LP was recorded with him! Patack left NWW after the 1st LP and directly did with John Grieve and Dave Hodes, Hastings Of Malawi, a new DaDa / Concrete music. Their only LP, "Vibrant Stapler Obscures Characteristic Growth" both released on black and clear-red vinyl was limited at 500 copies. It is an extremly rare LP 'cause 300 copies were destroyed!

I do remember him selling copies via united dairies mailorder. "No one should miss this vinyl disaster" was the marketing tag line :)

I can confirm that Steven Stapleton was not at all involved in this LP. I'm a Lucky guy 'cause i got the red version copy of the ultra rare Hasting Of Malawi . And i'm in Kontact with John Grieve (Hasting Of Malawi) since years... Who knows where is Heman Patack today? I tried to make some investigations... but no result !

Apparently a fairly large number of copies were destroyed by the parents of one of the participants.....but this may be hearsay ! Either way, it is an extremely rare record !
