Show All 13 ReviewsFabulous collection. Love it all! Only one odd thing, the Kenny Dixon Jr track seemed to have a lot of cackles and pops towards the end on my copy - when playing it straight out of sealed. But I checked the one uploaded onto youtube and it's the same. Is it a coincidence, or a general pressing defect, or was it put there deliberately (as the track after it on the same side doesn't have it). Anyway - other than that - buy this while you can!

To add to the overwhelmingly positive praise below, this is a very strong compilation indeed. As an Omar S devotee I had to get this (note, VAT 69 is a Rick Wilhite remix!). But there is a lot more on offer. Gerald Mitchell's track is a vibe, old-skool UR tones with his signature funky virtuoso keyboard noodling. Marcellus Pittman's track sounds like peak Unirhythm shit. Javonntte shows how to do the piano house anthem with substance. A couple of tracks don't hit quite as much for me but that's the mildest criticism. If you like Detroit dance music you should get this or at the very least purchase the digital release via the label's Bandcamp page.
My memory aint' what it used to be but is D1 2 KDJ tracks segued together?
I could be wrong, and I'm not sure I have the focus to dig them all out and check, so would be grateful if anyone could confirm or deny. As I said, I'm just asking. I thought they were 2 different tracks. Cheers in advance.

Sound quality is good, packaging is cheap. Expensive release with some heat on it. Got mine for a reasonable price with 30 percent off the original price. Some bangers on it, my favorite is the Omar S track. Absolute heat!

Picked up @ Alley Tunes, Melbourne. Ripper release, saw the price on bandcamp when it first came out, but upon listening at the store, had to pick it up. Every track is a 10 and Max informed me that this would be worth a hell of a lot more in the future! Detroit hustles harder!
You'll be doing well to find a better collection of tracks on vinyl this year. This one is a no brainer and I've a feeling it'll be very sought after in years to come.

Party in a box. This thing rips - really phenomenal collection of sounds from some of the best names Detroit has to offer. Comes in crappy paper inner sleeves...but what matters tho is how it sounds, and it's full speed ahead in that category. Like the comment below says - absolutely destined for classic status

Triple vinyl pack of some of the hottest Detroit tracks to surface in some time. Do yourself a favour and buy now while you can
