luckily my copy is well-pressed, though there seem to be some pressing defects out there. I do always clean my pressings with a vacuum-based cleaner and then apply an anti-stat gun to it, which probably helped solve some of the issues raise. It sounds amazing but of course there is a noise floor given the recording timeframe and the fact that it is AAA.

If you buy this pressing expect noise on side 1. There is 100 comments here saying that and mine is no different.

Mine sounds close to perfect. Some minor distortion in the crescendos. Fantastic dynamic.

My copy had multiple manufacturing defects, as others have noticed. Loud, staticy distortion in A1 that's impossible not to be distracted by. Other songs on side 1 as well. Side 2 seems better, but this is going back.

Just got my copy and it sounds fantastic, dead quiet! I have not heard the SRX, but 300 dollars ++ is insane..

My copy is quiet, but there is distortion when both Morgan and Blakey push to the limit. I believe this recording was made quite hot. Some distortion also in the piano. Annoying
              But musically it is amazing.

I do not recommend this pressing; very disappointing sound defects on A1, and I have tried two of them by now. I would stick with the Tone Poet from now on, because Pallas is no RTI.

Issues with this pressing as well and very disappointed with Blue Note customer service response telling me I need to take it up with the store I bought it at. It has nothing to do with the point of purchase, but the quality control of their product. The record store did not press a defective record. And it's my understanding that my local independent record store would have a tough time getting reimbursed for the defect as well, that's part of the reason why they understandably have a no returns on vinyl policy.

By comparison I had two defective copies of a record from International Anthem and they immediately sent me replacements.

Buyer beware when it comes to Blue Note — or whatever conglomerate owns them.

Two copies, both with so much non-fill that even the first track was unlistenable. Had trouble getting refunded the second time from the same seller. I'll happily pass on getting the third one...

It's a shame it wasn't released as a Tone Poet.
