*First things first...Remove your JMJ hat..and put on an Ambient hat!*
Fires crackling,tribes chattering,thunder,rain and some synths...all adds up to a damn decent album! (I didn't like it when i bought it in 2021,but applied the *asterisk* principle above
today.. )....and a totally different opinion results!
On Side 1..i cannot tell if there are a couple of 'non fill crunches'...or if its part of the Soundscape.
Regardless of that...it's a superb pressing,excellent production,and a thoroughly enjoyable listen-(from an Ambient viewpoint).

As said by Confederate, unique in his discography but very near to Biosphere for instance... Like his album The Hilvarenbeek Recordings. Therefore not so unique at the end (according to me)
Edited 4 years agoI love this record! Very good mastering and pressing too. No clicks or pops. On the binaural mix I can't hear any special. It's like a very good stereo mix, nothing more for me.- Edited 4 years agoWhat an excellent release. Sound quality is excellent in my view with great dynamics. This is such an interesting album and differs a great deal from everything Jarre has released to this day. I have to admit that I have never liked his Electronica albums ( too commercial sounding, too heavily influenced by modern pop, a few tracks are good though but I rarely play them ) but this release is most certainly unique in his discography. In fact, I wouldn't even call this music. You would have to make up your mind yourself to make a judgement here. I for one love this release with its beautiful artwork, intriguing concept that takes you on a journey to the Amazon forest. Please note that this vinyl release also features a download code for the 5.1 and binaural versions of this album that I recommend very heavily! [ Playing this using an Ortofon 2M Black cartridge ]
