- This recording is utterly spectacular. The sound on this SACD seems to me to approach what is possible for the format.
This review is only for the stereo layer. When I listen to this album, I like only about half the songs, but yet, I seem to listen to it way more than its quality would seem to indicate. The reason why is simple - it's pretty much the best sounding stereo SACD there is, period. You can add "I Robot" to this supreme SACD list.
What Alan Parsons has achieved here is simply stunning as the music is insanely, accurately recorded and rendered, but yet the sound has no sense that it it digital. The sound has warmth, like a record but in this case better, as well as all the other positive things that we associate with SACDs.
My rating is 6 stars out of 5.
