A landmark album that cemented their hip-hop pioneer status. It's minimalist, but uses rock guitar to great effect. The delivery is everything and they are on target here. Lyrically, it's hit or miss and is pretty dated today, as is the production, but the energy and impact is undeniable. As far as pressing sound quality, if you are looking for audiophile-level detail, you've got the wrong act.

My VG copy matches variant 1. Sound quality is fine and is full range and has clarity, depth and energy.

Snagged an original pressing for 10 bucks on the 'bay. Sounds surprisingly crisp! Very enjoyable! There's just something special about hip-hop on wax.
