Reviews
- Edited one month agoCrystal clear, intriguing, amusing, and serious studio jamming and outtakes. Loose Ends isn't for the casual Jimi Hendrix fan, but the devoted will find plenty here to savor. Treats include: Jimi's humorous request to turn up the volume in his "ear goggles" on the sadly too-short workout of Carl Perkins' "Blue Suede Shoes" (on which Jimi good-naturedly tutors Buddy Miles to play in a particularly "old time" way); the wild ride that is "The Stars That Play With Laughing Sam's Dice"; the stab at Dylan's "Drifter's Escape"; piano overdubs that are uncredited but almost certainly Hendrix himself adding layers to the mix; and the wonderful chemistry Jimi, Buddy Miles, and Billy Cox exude as they rehearse.
