often considered Kool Keith's finest work after Ultramagnetic (much to his disgust) Dr. Octagon is a brilliant, abstract and often dark album project by the minds of KK Automator and Q-bert. the beats are brilliant and even better heard in Instrumental form, and keith often Bizarre offbeat rhymes make it all the more special, with his part horrorcore, part abstract imagery. its just a pity with various re-issues and Automator taking over full production/own of the album a project like this will never happen again between the latter. if you are a lover of hip hop i recommend you pick this album up without hesistation. there is a few differences on a few remasters but nothing too damaging. witness the amazing Blue Flowers and then start as mean to go on.

An absolutely excellent slice of intelligent, abstract and generally crazy rap from Dan the Automator and Kool Keith. Simply put, if you like rap, you owe it to yourself to try this album. The beats are smooth and samples are very well chosen for each song, and Keith's rapping is the best it's ever been, featuring some hilarious and typically nonsensical rhymes - but then again, the album is a concept piece centering around an alien doctor who molests his young female patients. Highly enjoyable and a great listen from start to finish.
