Edited 5 months agoAs good as the Masterdisc RL cut is, I often think this blows it out of the water.
After owning a few of the US offerings, this pressing is sonically superior for me in every measure. Certainly cut "hot" (loud, unlike many US pressings) with zero sibilance or distortion across a super wide and dynamic soundstage. Instrument and vocal separation is clinical making for a totally engaging listening session.
Edited one year agoJust sublime - a perfect pressing in every respect. Buyers need to be made aware, that not every record pressed in Japan, has had the bottom-end shaved off. It will generally depend on whether the pressing plates have been shipped from the US / UK etc. This is an unknown factor, as Japan record labels will then add their own matrix codes. As others have echoed here, this pressing sounds incredible, and you will be beyond satisfied with this purchase. The standout track on this pressing is ‘Wrapped Around Your Finger’. Bass for days !
One of my favourites in my collection right now. Everything cuts through perfectly (especially the bass!) and Copeland's snare is bright and snappy. Awesome dynamics as well. The fact that I may actually appreciate Mother just because of this record goes to show how good this pressing is.
Possibly the best audiophile vinyl produced.
