I sought this copy out and managed to get a copy shipped in from the US. I went down the ' What's the best sounding copy of AJA rathole' and decided it was worth the risk.

A good friend and I have compared this issue to several UK pressing 1st and represses , various issues of CD's and even a Japanese SHM variant, this is the best we have heard.

It is more dynamic , greater range on the bass and treble, is more 3 dimensional too. I haven't compared to some of the super expensive pressings CISCO etc, and doubt if I will ever get the chance.

This is worth trying to get hold off if you can.

              So many AB 1006 pressings.

              I have a S AB-1006 (RE-3) A 1A
The “S” is etched really faint and squiggly
Is that what the S is supposed to look like?

I've had this copy since I was a kid and fortunately it was well taken care.
I bought a Cisco 30th when it first came out and yes, it is FCKNG amazing BUT...when the prices broke through the ceiling I sold it and absolutely do NOT regret that since I have this copy and a few extra Benjamin's to spend on other slabs.
It's all about how you like to spend money but at a tiny fraction of the Cisco price, this version is it!

Anyone know which copy mine is? Deadwax on side 1 looks like this:
                  S Z AB 1006(RE-3) - A KA 1B
                  Thanks.

i Just get AA cross-out B version. I did an a-b quick listening test with my mofi version. I can't believe how good this original version is compared to the half speed master. I have buy this version because i want to hear by myself what other are saying. It worth the investment.

Has anyone compared the US AB-1006 / AA-1006 to the UK first pressing with the Lacquer cut by ALLEN?
