Fila Brazillia live at the Victoria & Albert Museum, London. Recorded 03-11-00.
The 'concept' behind the show was to create a piece using 4 d.j. cd players, a d.a.t. tape and 2 mixers. The cd's were prepared beforehand and consisted of various random sequences. The 2 sets were unrehearsed and resulted in these two 'beatless' 20+ minute pieces. Submariners, astronauts and bee keepers should love it.
Exactly what the term 'Self indulgent wank' was invented for. Prog rock got PUNKED due to 15min guitar solos and other excesses. Its a good job not many people have heard this otherwise they would be setting fire to synths and samplers in droves. Worthless even as a beer mat
Unlike previous comment a few years since ... I was handed this free of charge (for no money ) by someone who had a big hand in this cd , listened to it tonight and was taken on a journey , a journey through Lost times and hazy evenings of my past . Spiritual , stimulating , mesmerising get lost in it ... Enjoy it , feel it .... And don't compare . FILA FOREVER !
When you least expect it... Some of the biggest crap in my collection. If this was meant to be a soundscape, it failed. As a collage, it failed. As a sort of ‘Space’ in the likes of The KLF/The Orb, it failed big time. This is pointless pulp lacking any direction, consisting of unoriginal, even irritating sounds and tones, and Fila Brazillia forgot the purpose of it all somewhere backstage. ‘Submariners, astronauts and bee keepers should love it’. If I was one, I’d sue them right away. By no means worth your hard earned money.
