B2 is not listed. The correct title is 'As You Said', but is also known as 'And Then Again' or 'Incubation 2'.
It is also listed as 'As You Like It' on a master tape box from Strawberry Studios.

Given away in record stores, released in generic die-cut paper sleeve. On release, Factory stated that this disc would never be deleted from its catalogue. At least 75,000 copies were pressed.

All tracks are from the Britannia Row studio session for Closer (March 18-30, 1980), that didn't end up on the album.

Some copies are known to be missing the printed information on either the A or B side label.

By some margin the most common Joy Division "rarity" .

Classic Joy Division. Would be very happy if this was reissued as a 12”. Could be a RSD contender. Id buy one straight away.

I "bought" mine by sending postage (I think it was like 85 cents -- I must have wrote a check) to Rough Trade in S.F., Ca. They must have ran an ad in a paper, perhaps Goldmine or Record Collector? It wasn't more than a year or two after its release. ..also I have a vague memory of seeing it for sale in Bleeker Bob's in NYC -- for like ten bucks, before the Rough Trade ad appeared, and saved the day for me!

I was told that Factory used to post these out stapled to letterheads. Right through the grooves, just for giggles.

Funny seeing 39 sales of a record showing *This record should not have cost you anything, wherever or however it was obtained." on b-side label... Cruel world :-)

Picked up a New Order - Ceremony (FAC33) 7", which looks unplayed at a record swap and found this flexi inside. Wonder if it was ever packaged with FAC33. Both look totally unplayed.

In a strange twist of fate - something deemed as surplus or a novelty item by Factory in 1980 - contains some of Joy Division's finest ever work. 'Komakino' marries a mystery play in Curtis' oblique vocals with a gurgling stream-like tune with true mystery at its heart. Curtis' invocation of a possible state of conflict of personal belief system versus the complexity of real life is the dovetail with the lyric, "as the questions arise and the answers don't fit, into my way of things". The song unfolds with harmonizing feedback and some generally inspired playing from Messrs Sumner, Hook and Morris. The guitar and bass riffs coil around each other and the drum patterns and rolls are worthy of the best crooked funk. There is something cheerful about this tune, which makes it something pleasant to listen, unlike some of the material on 'Unknown Pleasures'. 'Incubation' is equally as good, but relying on the pure groove going on within the disco beat against the excellent squalling and compellingly scratchy rhythm guitar of Curtis and the inspired riffery of Sumner. 'Incubation' is about growing stuff, and it does. One of the band's best pieces in their short career. The beatific vibe of 'As You Said' is the satisfying close to this 7" in saying more with less. A successful sketch more than a studied worked up piece, it doesn't need anymore time to its 1:58. A Kraftwerk vibe is dominant with a conglomeration of simple electronic drums with sparse synths and warped modulated sounds drifting in and out of the mix - this piece mirrors the development of the earliest house music happening at the same time in the USA, and tips a friendly nod to Cabaret Voltaire and Can. This flexi-disk is a beautiful experimental and funky microcosm, and these three pieces vividly point the way to the future material Joy Division may have come up with if Ian Curtis hadn't committed suicide in May 1980.
