Notes
Scottish Suite is subtitled: "A collection of Scottish Salmon farmer's songs and 12th century Paraguayan tin-miner's threnodies"
Side A is called "N.O.R. Side"
Side B is called "A.O.R. Side"
Scottish Suite recorded at Send Barnes and Olympic Studios, June 1976.
Tracks B3, B4, B6, B8 recorded at Essex Studios, the Farmyard and Trident Studios, London, Nov-Dec 1977.
The rest recorded at Slick Sound in the North Sea on the VICAR'S mobile oil rig ten and sponsored by Ralph Bernascone Aquasports Ltd.
Put in the right order at Atmosphere Sounds. Mastered at Trident. Remastered at Sterling Sound.
Mosaic design from "Arabic Art in Colour" by Prisse D'Avennes (Dover Publications)
Title based on Colin Sturge's "Back to the Pavillion", the biography of the notorious Neil Von Runkel, the socialist baron who gave up his title and estates to work for the M.C.C. party.
This album is dedicated to all those who still champion the "old-fashioned" ideals of beauty, lyricism and grandeur in art against the tide of cynical intellectualism and dissonance.
Any resemblance between themes in "SCOTTISH SUITE" and "HENRY" from "THE GEESE AND THE GHOST" is entirely uncoincidental.
