Nickodemus, on his second album, SUN PEOPLE, continues his pan-international wandering in sound. After the mellow African introducion of "Sun People (Intro)," the actual "Sun People" gets into some Baltic flavored hip-house. We jet over to Cuba for "La Lluvia" and boat to Jamaica for the dub-inflections of "The Love Feeling," to Brazil for "Gira Do Sol," then back to Africa -- Egypt, this time -- for the slinky bellydance of "2 Sips & Magic." But then the cross-pollination starts: the Arabic rhythms and dub on "Just Move!"; the gypsy instruments and New York beats of "Brookarest"; the South Asian and Latin fusion of "Didibina." The gypsy sounds get another round of blendings: with Arabic beats on "We Rise We Fall We Rise" and then with the African vocals on "N'Dini." The melting pot just got meltier.
