Reviews
- Masterpiece. Composing these jewels in the years 93/94 to this day seems crazy to me. For me no one has ever reached such a high level so soon.
In history.
Thanks BPC.
Thank you, Draeke. - Edited 5 years agoFrom a mastering perspective, this is the only DAT Records release which does not compress the dynamic range to increase the loudness of the music.
- Edited 10 years agoA great release. Even though this is more or less a "best hits" album, as this is the best BPC has to offer in this generation on a scene that bordering on existing and dying. The ol' mighty, driving, godly Goa trance with atmospheric synths, most track on this album are such and entertain well.
My only minor gripe is the "Hemo Static + Overbloody Flood" track on CD 1. The Hemo Static half is techno sounding music that never progresses beyond the repeating synth and drum structure through the track, until the epic Overbloody Flood remix half kicks in on the same track which is great. Hemo Static II track on CD 2, though, is an absolute handsome killer with its epic melodies and seriousness that isn't too dark nor too light.
All in all, this album is a masterpiece, check this out if you are looking for solid, atmospheric Goa trance.
5/5 - This release of older material in our current time is a blessing.
I agree that this material is outdated, but nevertheless it is mindblowing. I hear people flip out on full-on releases and complaing about where our good psychedelic times gone. BMP herd our cries and released a double CD with bordeline Goa Trance which surely can get you to heaven in instant. Some of the track are a bit outdated, however it brings you happines and joy when you listen to them.
You can this beauty for a resonable price and it will consume you as any other old school release.
Enjoy ;) - Edited 13 years agoNot sure about this one. I took delivery of it last night and had a quick listen. I love Blue Planet as much as any other electronic cd I own, but this is just a double cd of outdated, uptempo goa / slightly harder (as Denis09 said). The songs are all (apart from Crystal, which imho is by far the best song on here) obviously from an earlier, less sophisticated period than Blue Planet and so this is a disappointment for me. If I actually had them in 1993/1994 it would be amazing - I remember the first time I heard Overbloody Flood on a dance floor at a Flying Rhino party, and still enjoy the memory, but now the song just feels outdated... too fast and too simple.
If you still think 'Live Fast, Die Young' by X-Dream is awesome (from the same period), you'll like this. But I don't think this material has aged as well as, say, Union Jack's album (which hasn't aged perfectly anyway). I guess though it's nice to finally be able to pay money for another Blue Planet Corporation release. 3/5 - Blue Planet Corporation classics are finally released for mass consumption. Deleted vinyl exclusives, DAT-only tracks get a new life on this lovingly constructed release.
Carefully remastered, this amazing melodic trance still sounds awesome. The first three EP releases are put on disc one, and the mastering and digital quality really brings out the best in the tracks. On disc two we get a handful of previously unreleased tracks, most of which are positive surprises.
For those not already into BPC's style of trance, if pigeonholing is necessary, this is borderline hardtrance / goatrance in it's best possible incarnation. Riffs fly by, melancholic haunting synth leads bring the tracks forward and leave an unforgettable impression.
This release has been a long time coming, first destined to release on Chilltribe Records, now in the capable hands of Draekes DAT-records. We are lucky to have the privilege of this release, and at a time when good full on melodic trance is hard to come by it's a blessing.
Don't hesitate to grab a copy of this one, highly recommended.
