- Can anyone answer a question about this pressing.
I purchased a copy years ago on this forum but when I received it there was no capital sticker and a white box around the barcode at the time I didn’t think much about it.
I recently purchased another copy with the gold and black sticker same as the first picture but the barcode is also in a white box.
They are both sealed and would rather keep them that way if I can.
This is why I’m asking the community for help. - Edited one year agoThis version of 2008 are sold with golden-Black capitol sticker in Shrink wrap.... If doesn't have this probably is the 2023 reissue don't this... Buyers beware
- I think people are mistaken the new 2023 reissue with this one. To me this is a really good pressing.
- Reviews are all over the place on this one, and tbh I think it’s mainly due to the fact that the barcode is the same across pressings. When I found this, I was hopeful it was the 2008 Capital Vaults original mix repress but I wasn’t even sure. I looked it up via the number in the run out groove and was stoked it was the version I was searching for. The copy I found was used, graded conservatively VG+, and it was a little dusty. Upon further inspection, I saw a fairly large paper scuff on side A and a 3 inch line scratch that ran parallel to the grooves and my heart sank. I dropped the needle on Holy Wars and was a little surprised at how quiet it was. I cranked the volume and found it sounded better so I cranked it some more. The mixing on this sounds fantastic to me. Bass and drums are loud, the leads cut through the mids and the vocals soar over the top. The packaging was fairly close to the original iirc. Cover is glossy on medium card stock and the inner sleeve is a photo lyric sheet. I will be replacing this with a MoFi inner to prevent more paper scuffs but I was elated to find that the scuff and the scratch were not audible whatsoever. Happy to scratch this one off the grail list, and a little below retail to boot.

- I love these reviews: it sounds like trash! It sounds phenomenal! Opinions are like a-holes everyone’s got one. Myself included
- Edited one year agoHow has this not been repressed yet? It's absolutely ridiculous, just like the prices people are asking for this pressing.
- Overall sounds phenomenal. It is not quite as good as a true original pressing but it sounds very good.
