Includes a 24-page, 12" x 12" booklet and printed inner sleeve. Front cover has embossed lettering CARNAGE. The interior section of the sleeve is printed black. This applies to the inner sleeve also. The barcode sticker is applied to the shrink-wrap, not the sleeve. A5 sticker sheet available with initial copies at some stores. This has its own barcode (5 056167 161783) on the rear of the sheet.
No popping or cracking on my copy. I did buy it 2nd hand, so it may have been cleaned prior to my receiving it. Sounds like if you buy it new, you better clean it first, but the mastering and pressing itself leaves little to be desired. Excellent record, proud to own it.
Picked up a second hand copy today, not sure if previous owner had cleaned it or not, but sounds great. Excellent dynamics and no crackles or pops at all.
Great presentation: cover and booklet very high quality. Unfortunately my copy, like almost every new vinyl I buy these days is quite visibly warped when playing. I'm also underwhelmed by the vinyl mastering. Understandably it required compression due to Ellis's super-intense bass (when copying to cassette the Dolby B chip went crazy during White Elephant), but overall the result is dull and lacks timbre compared to the digital mix. In summary, this one is mainly for looks.
Yeah its pretty crackly throughout even after a good cleaning. Great fidelity and dynamics though. Sounds fantastic other than the noise. I'm starting to see a trend with records coming from Takt Direct. They all seem to be pretty noisey. Anyone else noticing this?
