30th Anniversary Box set collecting the first 61 Single/EP A & B sides in chronological order (CDs 1-7), plus a selection of rarities and album tracks (CD 8). Includes 76 pg. booklet plotting the story of Cherry Red Records.

Track 1-17 erroneously credited as "Nov. 22nd 1968".
Track 4-8 erroneously credited as "Taboo" and swapped with "Taboodub".
Track 7-16 erroneously credited as "Now Summer Spreads Its Wings Again".
Track 7-17 erroneously credited as "Jet Set Junta".
Track 8-28 is not credited to any artist, consisting of 4 minutes and a half of silence.

Track 3-19 is the version of "Something Sends Me To Sleep" from the A side of the original 7" single (Cherry Red CHERRY 26). The AA side featured a slightly longer (3:07) alternative version, along with the same version of "Red Indians" (Track 3-20)! The alternative version of "Something Sends Me To Sleep" is on Disc 4 of the 'Felt Box Set' (Cherry Red FELT. Box 1).

Track 7-15 is the album version of "A Preacher In New England", (from 'The Splendour of Fear' - Cherry Red M RED 57) rather than the shorter single version from Side B of 'Penelope Tree' (Cherry Red 12 Cherry 59) which runs to 2:10.

On tracks 7-20 & 7-21 the songwriting is credited to "Veis" although the track was written by both Alex & Constantin Veis.

Track 8-4 is incorrectly credited to "Harrison". However it is written by Gavin Povey.

    this compilation is a really crap in web downloads that i purchased. the source is from really no-fidelity 160mp3...
    What a disappointment for a label that had given a chance to many unknown or obscured groups back in 80's...
    Where is your archive gentlemen, why cheat taking money from unsuspicious music lovers ?
