- My copy is horrible: crackles everywhere, shitloads of surface noise, it's worse than some of my 1960's and 1970's used records ! I've been trying to clean it thoroughly, tried to wash it, brush it, threaten it… To no good for now.
This is weird given all the good comments below and also the good quality of the previous reissues (I got myself almost every one) - I’ve just decided to write my first impressions of this reissue. Not having heard/owned the original 2007 edition, I can’t compare them, but this is a dead quiet copy, with plenty of dynamics, and the music (at least to my ears) is wonderful. Superb pressing of my only PJ Harvey I really really like.
- I think I'm in the minority, but this is my favorite PJ Harvey album. I don't have any other vinyl versions of this album as the originals were getting a bit pricey so I'm glad this was released. Anyway, I couldn't be happier. The pressing is dead quiet and the mastering seems to be spot on. I was a little concerned when I heard it was a single disc at 45rpm, but I really don't think much would have been gained by spreading it across three or four sides. It sounds fantastic as is! Can't wait to listen again.
- weakest LP of all of hers; why on earth reissue this when you can STILL find original vinyl of this in stores smh
- Pefect, flat, clean, quiet. Only it is cut at 45rpm,which is cool!! Sound is outstanding (VPI Table,Soundsmith Cart,VPI Cleaned)
- Edited one year ago180gram 2021 vinyl reissue plays at 45rpm. First playing of LP was extremely "crackly" probably due to both dust and static. A good clean, a zapping with the Zerostat and changing to a plastic inner sleeve made a big difference. After 3 or 4 plays album was playing as it should. Love this album.
- My copy plays at 45rpm - unlike all other recent reissues/Demo albums. Not sure why that is, but the record is beautiful nonetheless
