Just got my copy in and it’s amazing. I don’t hear any unpleasant noises like others have stated. Strong bass and mids and all around great sound. Pretty pleased right now.
I have this pressing and I must say that it's pretty disappointing to have a record that already sounds used. It's not horrible or unlistenable, but the noise really throws you off of the experience. If you ignore the surface noise, the dynamic is masterfully done. It really sounds amazing. The sleeve is also nicely done - the gold foil really adds a nice touch and makes it feel more premium.
Went through two copies. First copy had a scratch across side B when I removed it from the sleeve. Second copy has a dime-sized scuff across A1, luckily it doesn't appear to be audible. Side A is loaded with static/clicks in the first 3 min, even after wet washing it twice. Then the surface noise fades. I'm going to play it a few times and maybe wash it again and hopefully it'll clear up. Otherwise, nice jacket with gold foil. Printed inner sleeve. Looks like this may have been pressed at RTI, but cannot 100% confirm. Mix/mastering sounds excellent. Nice separation on the instruments. And that low, low bass.
Just got this. Great pressing as far as manufacturing goes. But I keep comparing it to Advaitic Songs, and it really pales in comparison. If you haven’t heard Advaitic 2LP @ 45rpm, it’s an experience.
Completely forgot to say, WOW this pressing is fantastic, little to no noise after a wet clean, super dynamic, perfect album and pressing. Love the foil embossed sleeve aswell. EDIT: I have a different set of headphones now as opposed to when I first listened to this pressing, Cremation Ghat I is dynamic to such an insane degree, the clapping sounds like its in the room
Very confusing that the reissues of this seem to be identical to the first print, would love an original but theyre genuinely impossible to find due to this it seems. Same with Advaitic Songs.
