The Basic Influence* – Still Waters / Rainforest

Still Waters + the 'run deep rmx' are such stunning, beautiful, hard hitting tracks that are full of tranquility. Could never pick a fave out of the 2, but great reviews/appreciation here for such bliss.

Rainforest isn't half bad either! Infact no where near bad. Rolls along nicely with lovely melodic sounds here and there over great drums keeping the track going. Those samples feel so forest'ey too & give off a uniqie vibe tbf.👍

Still Waters is a record that has to be listened to from start to finish, and it would be sacrilege to cut it short. The amen break is beautifully programmed, with a skip and a step that compliments with the floating synth sound and rolling bass, its just such a good composition, and takes you willingly into the jungle dreamscape. Add to that Dillinja motifs, such as the deck stop incorporated into the break around the middle of the tune, and you have yourself a classic example of the genre from back in 96. This tune, and Deadly Dark Subs Remix on Razors Edge, are Dillinja's (in all his guises) best tunes, imho. Solid business: 5/5 all the way!
