Recommendations
Reviews
- "Let Me Put My Love Into You" sounds like it's be recorded under water... Distorted to F even after cleaning with a wet cleaner twice..(It helps but stills sounds a hot mess)
- Edited one year agowell, it seems it's not a bad pressing in general but there are some copys that do have flaws. My LP sounds not totally bad but a bit lifeless and muffled sometimes and on "Given The Dog A Bone" it seems there's a Gremlin sitting in my Amp and messing with my Midrange. I have some sort of wave throughout the song. up, down, up, down, etc.
Same on "Back In Black"
"Let Me Put My Love Into You" is heavily distorted. - This pressing sounds really firm and tight in the bass, mid's and highs. Great drum sound. Brian is centred without a ocean of reverb (remember Fly on the Wall? 😂). I can highly recommend this pressing.
Equipment:
Rega RP40, Rega Ania Pro MC stylus, Rega Aria Mk3 RIAA, Mackie MS1202VLZPro mixer (modified), Quested V2108 active speakers x 3, Quested VS2108 active speakers x 2, Quested SB10R Active 10" subwoofer (14Hz - 45Hz). - No issues at all with this pressing - sounds really punchy and sharp. Playing in a Planar 2 with a excellent stylus and no distortion or poor sound quality.
- Edited one year agoAnother winner from George Marino. The best pressing to date - warm analogue sound / dead-quiet background / flat disc / crisp inner and outer artwork. Other reviewers mention they have experienced distortion issues - none hear on my pressing - so there’s either a bad batch, or the reviewers system / tonearm / cartridge set-up is incorrect.
- My copy has the same issue as many others have reported, first 2 tracks sound fine and after that the quality declines. Especially the last track of each side, the distortion is unbearable, the high notes drown and the vocals become "raspy".
- First track jumps and skips allover the place, no obvious signs of damage and like this from new. I think this press has a few quality issues at least from judging by other reviews that have similar issues.
- Great mastering and sound. No distortion whatsoever while playing the record. Quiet and flat, no clicks or pops.
- Can not believe how can one screw up so much the pressing of a classic album. Same problems with the inner grove distortion. Unbearable.
- I have a copy that looks like this 2009 version to me but I'm not sure, the matrix on my disc in side A has a PIT writing in addition to the numbers and in side B in addition to the numbers it has a mirrored 5 followed by IV. I have also read that this version differs from that of 2021 because here on the inside cover there is only www.acdcrocks.com while in the one of 2021 there is additionally www.columbiarecords.com, my version has both of these writings so it seems to be the 2021 version but I bought it in 2020 so I can't explain what version it is. can any expert tell me if it is this version of 2009? if it weren't what version is it?
